Democratic Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit tells the co-hosts of Detroit in Black and White why he wants to be Michigan’s next attorney general.

He talks about cracking down on employers who cheat workers out of wages, consumer protection, price gouging, voting rights, and the need to unite the Democratic Party.

He says he was motivated to run for attorney general after reading the Republicans’ Project 2025 report, which he saw as a blueprint for dismantling democracy.

He will square off against Republican Doug Lloyd and Libertarian Jason Dye in the Nov. 3 election.
