Hosts Adolph Mongo, Vanessa Moss and Allan Lengel talk with Joan Merriewether, a former Detroit Police officer and sheriff’s deputy, who is running to unseat incumbent Wayne County Sheriff Raphael Washington. Merriewether broke ground in her career, becoming the first female helicopter pilot for Detroit Police and the first African American female helicopter for law enforcement in the nation.
